A cyclist has died after reports of a collision with a vehicle in the intersection of Highway 3 (Central Avenue) and Boundary Drive just after 3pm this afternoon, April 17.
Grand Forks RCMP say the cyclist received life threatening injuries and was quickly assisted by bystanders performing CPR. He was then transported to the local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses of the incident, who have not already spoken with RCMP, to please contact the Grand Forks RCMP Detachment at 250 442 8288.
“We are also asking anyone in the area at this time, with dash cam footage to please view your footage and call the RCMP if you have captured anything of note.” said Grand Forks RCMP.
The highway has been reduced to single lane alternating traffic, with YRB warning of closures on the way and detour to be put in place.
