Grand Forks Border Bruins hold number 2 on the KIJHL ladder with back-to-back wins against the Nelson Leafs over the weekend.
The Bruins hit the road on Friday night, December 13, where they defeated Nelson 4 to 1, then they returned to home ice on the Saturday where they had to fight for the win, with a 2-1 shootout.
Levi Astill scored the shootout winner for the Border Bruins over the Nelson after forcing the game into extra time on Ben Edwards’ fourth goal, assisted by Brandon Gray.
Jasper Tait made 18 saves, then another three in the shootout.
