Boundary-Similkameen MLA Donegal Wilson is still ‘pinching herself’ after the weekend’s election results and says she is ready to get busy for her riding.
“It feels pretty exciting, and I am getting ready to go down to Vancouver to my first caucus meeting and get to it.” said Wilson.
Wilson says most of the feedback is positive, with many eager for change, and she is looking forward to meeting the locals and bringing their concerns to the table.
“I spent a lot of time knocking on doors during my campaign period and heard pretty clearly a few key things, specifically around health care,”
“There’s a lot of people in our area that are very concerned about our emergency rooms being closed intermittently or only open business hours.”
Wilson is eager to show what she can do over the next four years.
“I want to be the best voice for the Boundary-Similkameen, and so my goal is to listen to the people and ensure that my voice is what they need and want in Victoria.”
“While I obviously am aligned with the Conservative Party in BC, I do understand that I represent everybody, and I really want to make sure that I maintain a mobile office and keep that connection.”
“I’m super excited and ready to get at it.”
Wilson earned 48.48 percent of the ballot after all ballot boxes were counted on Saturday night, edging out BC NDP’s Roly Russell coming in with 42.46 percent of the vote.
